Your personalised dental care
Conveniently located in Martin Place in the heart of the Sydney CBD, Sydney Dental Aesthetics and Implants (SDAI) provides a welcoming environment for patients seeking a range of dental services. Our team aims to offer a supportive and professional experience, with clinicians who communicate clearly and take the time to understand each patient’s needs. We focus on creating a calm and considerate setting to help patients feel comfortable throughout their visit.
Australian QIP Accredited Practice
SDAI is a QIP Accredited Practice, recognised for meeting the National Safety and Quality in Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

What is Accreditation?
Accreditation is an internationally recognised evaluation process in which a dental practice is assessed by an independent accrediting body, such as Quality Innovation Performance (QIP). It involves demonstrating compliance with the NSQHS Standards, which outline nationally recognised requirements for safety and quality in healthcare settings.
What this means for our patients
Accredited practices have documented systems and processes in place that align with the NSQHS Standards. For patients, this reflects a commitment to structured safety and quality systems in day-to-day practice. Accreditation indicates that the practice has undergone an external review of its policies and procedures and complies with recognised national standards.
Experience and expertise
At SDAI our practitioners have been caring for patients collectively for over 40 years and placing implants for the past 12 years along with teaching and mentoring other dentists worldwide.
Experience in dental implants and metal free implants
Dr Licenblat is one of the dental practitioners in Australia who offer zirconia (metal-free) implant options. He was among the early adopters of zirconia implant systems in Australia and New Zealand and completed a master’s degree in Oral Implantology at Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. He provides implant treatment as part of his clinical practice and is involved in teaching implant-related techniques to other dentists in Australia and internationally.
Sedation support for anxious patients
For patients who feel anxious about dental treatment, sedation may be an option to help create a more relaxed experience. Sedation dentistry places patients in a deeply relaxed state while remaining responsive, and the level of sedation used will depend on individual clinical suitability. At SDAI, in-chair IV sedation is available and is administered by a qualified sedationist for patients assessed as suitable.

Committed to ongoing training and development
Dentists have a responsibility to maintain and update their professional skills, and both Dr Dean and Dr Melissa Licenblat participate in ongoing education as part of their clinical practice. Dr Dean attends and presents at implant-related conferences in Australia and overseas. He is the Treasurer of the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry (ASID) and a senior tutor in the Master’s program in Oral Implantology at Goethe University in Frankfurt, where he contributes to the education of participating dentists.
Dr Dean and Dr Melissa are also members of several professional dental organisations, reflecting their ongoing engagement with continuing education and developments in their areas of practice.
Sedationist onsite
Dr Melissa Licenblat is a Principal Dentist and has completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Conscious Sedation and Pain Control). She now focuses primarily on providing in-chair IV sedation as part of her clinical practice.
At SDAI, sedation services are available on site for patients assessed as suitable. This allows certain dental treatments to be performed in the practice under the supervision of a qualified sedationist. Your dentist will discuss whether sedation is appropriate for your individual circumstances and outline what you can expect during the process.
Modern technology and techniques
SDAI provides a range of modern dental services including All-On-4TM, zirconia metal free implants, ozone therapy treatment, PRF and sleep dentistry. SDAI also utilises contemporary dental equipment such as CBCT imaging to take 3D X-rays and a CEREC technology for the in-house design and fabrication of certain ceramic restorations.
