Get veneers or fillings replaced in your lunchtime break with CEREC

cerec and veneers

In the past, restorations and crowns were a long, painful process that people avoided due to the cost and time wastage caused by multiple visits to the dentist. Today however with CEREC everything can be done within a long lunch break, with less injections and drillings, and the added bonus of getting high strength, tooth reinforcing porcelain that matches the colour, function, and strength of your natural teeth.

So, what is CEREC?

The term CEREC as used in dentistry stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic. This is a system that uses CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) to fabricate dental restorations. They are in essence, a camera, computer, and manufacturer of precision restorations – all rolled into one.

CEREC technology uses the latest 3D imaging software to create an accurate and detailed representation of your teeth which is the key to getting a perfect, flawless restoration.

What can CEREC be used for?

CEREC is fantastic the following:

  • during amalgam removal procedures
  • to fix and replace damaged, decayed and failed fillings
  • new crown, veneer or inlay placement

All done in one sitting- JUST 1- 1.5 hours!

Everything from start to finish is carried out during one, simple, convenient appointment and shouldn’t take any longer than 1-1.5 hours.

No need for impressions

If you ask any dentist or patient often their least favourite procedure is traditional impression taking. Not only is it messy but also uncomfortable for the patient. With a CEREC machine however, impressions are done digitally using high tech camera equipment. So no more messy impression taking, just easy, simple, and convenient technology.

Flawless smile

At Sydney Dental Aesthetics and Implants, we only use the most current rigorously tested biocompatible materials available. These materials can be adjusted to match the natural shade of surrounding healthy teeth creating a naturally beautiful smile — who wants one tooth standing out from the rest?

You might be a CEREC candidate if:

  • You’ve been told you need a new crown, porcelain veneer, inlay, onlay or bridge
  • You have a cracked tooth, old failing restorations, or any large damage on your teeth
  • You are interested in replacing old metal restorations with biocompatible restorations
