Why it’s never too late for teeth whitening treatment

Beautiful white teeth and red lips

No matter what your age, you always want to feel and look your best. There is no expiry date on self-esteem, so as you get older, it’s just as important to feel good about yourself and your appearance.

Teeth whitening treatment is a big step towards a more confident, happier you, and it’s never too late to bring out those pearly whites!

Why a bright smile is important

A bright, beautiful smile can change a person’s life, and that’s not an exaggeration.

From getting ahead in your career to starting a new relationship, every aspect of your life can improve when you have more confidence with a warm, bright smile.

Confidence might just be the most important attribute a person can have.

Unfortunately, it’s not a skill to be mastered, a set of rules to be followed, or something you can buy.

It’s a state of mind.

A place of well-being.

An acceptance of yourself and your abilities.

But even if you have all these things, they can be sabotaged by a bad smile.

Why teeth change colour

Just as we all have different skin tones, we also all have different teeth colour, and this colour will change naturally over time.

Our teeth are naturally slightly yellow – this comes from the dentine underneath our enamel showing through. As we get older, the enamel thins, showing more of the colour underneath it.

There are external factors of course, which can change the colour of your teeth, such as smoking or drinking tea and coffee every day, but everyone’s teeth will eventually change unless they invest in teeth whitening treatment.

Our teeth whitening treatments

We have two main teeth whitening treatments available for our clients.

Smartbleach® Laser Teeth Whitening

The Smartbleach® teeth whitening system is unlike any other treatment, and will give you long-lasting whiter teeth within an hour!

This highly effective teeth whitening treatment is a specially formulated, non-acidic red whitening gel which is combined with a KTP Laser. The result is highly effective, yet surprisingly gentle on your tooth enamel.

We treat each tooth individually until optimal results are achieved.

Laser-activated fluoride treatment is then placed on all the whitened teeth to stabilise the results.

Smartbleach® Laser teeth whitening is the only true “Laser” Whitening.

Comparisons with other methods at two Universities in Europe have shown Smartbleach® to give the best results.

Take Home Kits

If you’re unable to get into the dentist our home kits are the answer for you.

These kits allow you to get whiter teeth in the comfort of your home, at a time which is convenient for you.

We provide the very best take-home kits available with the added benefit of oversight by a professional to maximize results.

Coffee staining teeth

How to keep your teeth white after a treatment

Okay, so you’ve decided to try our incredible teeth whitening treatment, but how are you want to keep your teeth white and like new.

There are many factors which can cause teeth to change colour from the outside, including plaque, tartar and smoking, but the main reason is food stains.

Obviously, not all foods are bad for you (as long as you brush regularly), but some should be avoided if you want your new pearly whites to last.

While berries are packed with Vitamins and antioxidants, they are also terrible for staining your teeth.

Raspberries, blueberries, cranberries, blackberries… they all have concentrated natural colouring which can attach itself to enamel, so while you don’t need to avoid these healthy berries, make sure you brush your teeth soon after eating.

Tea and coffee contain tannins, a compound which bonds with the protein in the enamel.

This causes them to stick to your teeth longer and is therefore more likely to stain.

The same goes for red and white wine, but the surprising thing is, it’s tea and white wine which contain more than tannins than coffee and red wine so they’re actually worse for staining your teeth!

It’s never too late for a beautiful, bright smile

It’s a well-known psychological effect that affects our behaviour, the more we smile, the happier we are.

Having a big, bright smile brings with it a new lease of life, along with a boost in confidence, and greater self-esteem.

It’s incredible how such a small investment can bring such huge rewards!
