Dr Dean Licenblat recognised as a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry

We’re so proud to announce that Dr Dean Licenblat, our Practice Principal of SDAI and Founder and head lecturer of Australasian Implant Academy, has been recognised as a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).

As one of only 380 dentists who hold this distinguished membership worldwide, Dr Licenblat has proven that he is one of the leading experts in implant care.

Who is Dr. Dean Licenblat?

He’s the dentist that other dentists choose. As the Practice Principal of Sydney Dental Aesthetics and Implants (SDAI) in Martin Place, Sydney, one of a few dental surgeries to be awarded ‘Leading Implant Centre of the World’, Dr Dean Licenblat is passionate about paving the way and being at the forefront in Australian dentistry. He is a renowned global dental leader, educator and innovator, and respected leader in the field of dental implantology.

Who is the American Academy of Implant Dentistry?

Established in 1951, the AAID is the first professional organisation in the world dedicated to the advancement of implant dentistry. As part of its commitment to top quality patient care, research, education and excellence, the AAID created a program to credential professionals in implant dentistry.

To earn these AAID credentials, dentists must meet rigorous qualifications that demonstrate they have the deep knowledge and critical skills essential to successfully placing implants and replacement teeth.

What does it mean to hold a AAID Fellow Credential?

There’s a significant difference between dentists who offer implants and dental implant experts.  To be recognised as a Fellow of the AAID, you need to have:

  • 5+ years as a dental implant expert
  • 400+ hours of continuing education in implant dentistry
  • Passed in-depth oral and written exams

To qualify for Fellowship, an expert panel of implant dentists reviewed Dr Licenblat’s professional and leadership credentials as well as commitment to excellence in implant dental practice and to the Academy’s standards for ethics and patient welfare. He was also required to document for review that he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, of which he was the first Australian dentist to achieve this status.

Why should I choose someone credentialed in implant dentistry?

Dental implants are complex, sophisticated devices that require specialised training and expertise to fit properly. When you choose an AAID-credentialed dental implant dentist, you can be confident you’re working with an expert who has the extensive education, training and experience required to make sure your dental implant surgery is a success.
